Therapy
In recent years a more scientific approach to psychological therapy, known as Human Givens Therapy has offered us a deeper understanding of the ways in which the human mind works, and how to help it heal. Innovators in the field of psychology have developed important organising ideas and theories to enable the first scientific and solution-focused approach to understanding the human mind, and defining the emotional needs with which we are all born. Helpfully, those pioneers have also given us a clear idea of the tools with which we can meet those needs, and how to repair things when our inbuilt ‘system’ does not seem to be working at its best. Their work has given rise to what is now known as the Human Givens approach to psychotherapy, where the focus is on helping each individual to develop their skills so they can meet their own emotional and physical needs with the innate resources with which they were born.
These principles, ideas and methods are now used worldwide, not just in the therapy room, but across industry, commerce, coaching, education and government.
Endless weeks of talking to a well-meaning therapist about what’s wrong in your life are now a thing of the past, whilst more up-to-date, solution-focused methods of helping people have proven powerful tools in inspiring and supporting people to design and build lives in which they may move quickly from surviving to thriving.
Sometimes, real trauma is preventing someone from moving forward to a fulfilling life, but effective and safe treatment is now available, offering a real solution to overcoming even the most stubborn of trauma. Each of the team at Mayfair Therapy Group is very experienced in using this technique to quickly and effectively deal with trauma.
